About Alison Priest

Welcome to the Region 5 news page!! Please visit monthly for news on what's going on around our area! If you have an event that you would like to promote, please let me know!

Here's a little about me: I started my PTA life as a parent volunteer when my son started Kindergarten at Pleasant Valley Elementary. When the new elementary school in our neighborhood (Butler Creek Elementary) was completed, I continued to be a parent volunteer working in my sons classroom and working on several PTA committees and events. I became a member of the PTA board and that is when I became aware of the state and national organization. I learned that my dues go towards advocating for all children, not just the children in our school.

My family consists of my husband, Chad, and our two children, Nick and Courtney. Nick is a Freshman at Reynolds High School and Courtney is a 6th grader at Reynolds Middle School. This is a big change for us, since we have recently moved out of the Centennial District. Being out the elementary school system will be a change for me since I've been involved for the last 9 years.

We live in Fairview, Oregon (a small community just east of Portland) and I work as a Pharmacy Technician at Target.

I became a part of the Oregon PTA State Board as Region 5 Director, then was elected as Secretary, and now I am back again as Region Director! I am also the editor of the statewide newsletter, Onevoice. I look forward to working with my local units again and I hope that we can build the number of PTA's in the East Multnomah/Hood River County!

I would love to see the Reflections Program in every school! The deadline to get Reflection items turned into me is January 16th. That gives students all winter break to complete their works of art!

I am here as a resource for you! If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, anything, please feel free to email or call!
